Pues
sí, así como se lee, siguen diciendo adiós a las Olimpiadas los favoritos del
tenis. Esta vez se fue la estadounidense Serena Williams número uno del mundo,
junto con la Hispano-venezolana Garbiñe Muguruza, número tres del planeta.
Ambas súper favoritas para colgarse alguna medalla, pero no será en estos
juegos.
Muchos
atribuyen la salida temprana de los grandes tenistas al calendario súper
apretado que ellos llevan, lo que los hace jugar torneos cada semana durante
todo el año, casi sin descanso.
Las
puertas de las medallas se abren para nuevos jugadores, pues ninguno de los
ganadores de Londres 2012 dirá presente en el podio en Río 2016. Surge como
nueva favorita por las mujeres la estadounidense Madison Keys, una joven
promesa de este deporte.
Luego
de este torneo se viene otro grande; el Abierto de los Estados Unidos, para el
cual ya muchos jugadores se están preparando. Veremos cómo se enfilan las
semifinales y finales correspondientes a estos Juegos Olímpicos.

Yes, as you
read, they keep saying goodbye to the Olympics favorite tennis. This time
Serena Williams world number one, along with the Spanish-Venezuelan Garbiñe
Muguruza, the world number three left. Both super favorite to hang a medal, but
not in these games.
Many attribute
the early exit of the great players to super tight schedule they carry, which
makes playing tournaments every week throughout the year, almost without rest.
Medals doors
open to new players, since none of the winners of London 2012 say this on the
podium in Rio 2016. It arises as a new favorite for women American Madison
Keys, a promising young sport.
After this comes
another big tournament; the US Open, for which as many players are preparing.
